VISI announces a case study showcasing its success in turning Maple Grove-based Service Lighting’s website into a hassle-free aspect of their business. After years of being dissatisfied with their server performance, Service Lighting came to Minnesota’s largest managed hosting provider for help.

VISI recommended that they move to a two-tiered architecture where the ColdFusion web layer was de-coupled from the backend MySQL database layer and deployed on separate virtual servers. With growth in mind, the two-tiered architecture allows the company to scale either their web or database servers. Through the use of a load balancer and clustering technologies, scaling out, rather than scaling up, provides a cost effective and stable way to grow their web presence.
